Freelance News Writer/ Reporter/Producer, March 1990 – February 1992

Newswriter and field producer for the #1 evening news program in New York City and vicinity. Reporter and producer, duties included, general assignment reporting, live-shots and producing feature length videos.

KHOU-TV  CBS,  Houston, Texas.

Associate Producer, September 1987 – April 1989

Assisted in the assembling of the half – hour news program.  Duties included, lining up remote live-shots with reporters, writing news stories and scripting anchor teases, transitions and live shot interviews.  Proficient with newsroom computer technology.  Managed a staff of writers, camera operators and studio crew.

CITY OF HOUSTON MUNICIPAL ACCESS CHANNEL, Houston, Texas.

Production Specialist, February 1987 – September 1987

Assisted in launching Houston’s Municipal Access Channel.  Facilitated the televising of city council programs and hosted informational programs which were taped and edited at the production facility.

1997 Minority Judicial Clerk

Selected from among 120 NYC law school student applicants. The winner is placed in a federal district Judge’s chambers as a law Clerk.       

The Innocence Project at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law – Spring 1997

Selected students are assigned six or more cases involving the claims of inmates who feel DNA testing could exonerate them.  The Innocence Project is administered by famed defense Attorney Barry Scheck and has freed dozens of inmates since its inception. Student/lawyers are responsible for locating and facilitating the testing of DNA material as well as drafting and submitting legal memoranda to the Courts.

1996 Summer Fellow, The Association of The Bar of The City of New York

Fellowships awarded to the winners of a law school Legal Research and Writing contest and personal interviews.  Fellows are later placed with a top New York City law firm as an Associate.
